Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Is Expected To Leave Liverpool After Falling Down The Pecking Order In The Squad

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is emerging as a target for a trio of Premier League sides as the midfielder prepares to leave Liverpool.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and there have been no talks with the Anfield club over a new deal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose last appearance for the club came in the recent 1-0 Champions League loss at Real Madrid, will almost certainly leave Merseyside in the summer and rival clubs are keen on snapping him up.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and Brighton are among the clubs to have an early interest in the former Arsenal star leading into the summer transfer window.

Brighton were interested in taking him in the January window but didn’t want to pay a fee for him given he is available for nothing at the end of the season.

Clubs in Serie A have also expressed an interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose first-team opportunities have been severely restricted.

The Southampton academy graduate is focussed on helping Liverpool finish in the top four before he takes the next step in his career.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 12 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season but the Reds are planning a squad overhaul in the summer following a disappointing campaign meaning his chances of first-team football will not improve.
