On loan Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho has been told by the coach of the Super Eagles to pledge his international allegiance to Nigeria ahead of Italy.
Born in Rome to parents of Nigeria descent, he is eligible for both countries but hasn't been capped at any level, he missed out on a training camp with Italy last season due to injury. This season he has really impressed for Hellas Verona.
Folorunsho, who is on loan from Napoli stole the headline with a wonder goal in their 2-2 draw against league giants Juventus last weekend. It was his third goal of the season in 25 appearances in the Serie A. He also had one assist to his name.
The 26-year-old has been approached by Peseiro on his international future and the response was said to be positive, however things will accelerate a lot of faster when Peseiro whose deal will run out at the end of the month with signs of extension on the card.
He has been monitoring the midfielder for a while, but kept the decision on hold as he was keen on working with the core of the team he met when he arrived in his bid to meet up with the target of reaching the Afcon Semifinals, which the team did and went all the way to the final.
