West Ham Will Be Without Jarrod Bowen When They To Face Fulham On Sunday

David Moyes has confirmed Jarrod Bowen is set to miss West Ham’s Premier League clash with Fulham on Sunday while goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is also a doubt.

Bowen was forced off after just 54 minutes in West Ham’s 2-1 win away to Wolves last weekend with a knee injury.

The England international subsequently missed West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday evening and is likely to be absent for Fulham’s visit to the London Stadium this Sunday.

Areola, meanwhile, has missed West Ham’s last three matches due to a groin problem. Moyes is also uncertain over injuries to Kalvin Phillips and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Moyes said at his pre-match press conference on Friday as cited by Sports Central: ‘We’ve only just come back from Germany, so we’re still working things out, but I don’t think we’ll have Jarrod at the weekend unfortunately. “We’re not sure about Alphonse or Kalvin [Phillips], and I’ve not had chance to speak to the medical team about Dinos [Mavropanos] yet, to see what the feeling is with him. Whether that’s a bad one or not, we don’t know yet.”

West Ham currently sit seventh in the Premier League and a point behind Manchester United who have played one game fewer.

Moyes said: ‘The goal is to try and be a European side again if we can be. ‘That has always been my thought. When you’re in it and you’re playing the Thursday-Sundays it can be difficult, but when you’re out of it, you’re desperate to get back in amongst it. ‘We’ve had three years of it which have been brilliant for us and if we can make it four, it would be fantastic. ‘It says a lot that we’re at this stage of the season and we’re still fighting for a European spot. ‘We’ve had a lot of football as well and it has been a great effort by the players. We need to push on again now and show we’re ready when it matters.’
