Mike Tyson has admitted that it's 'tricky' trying to juggle his boxing return with family commitments as he prepares to face Jake Paul later this month.
The 58-year-old will lock horns with his 27-year-old opponent on November 15, in what will be his first bout since his draw with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
Tyson is feeling good as the showdown approaches. He is eager to wind back the years and show that, even at his age, he's capable of stunning the world.
But he's admitted it's 'tricky' trying to balance his boxing career with his family life.
Speaking to the All the Smoke Fight podcast, he said as cited by Sports Central: “That was the first one and, God willing, these guys are offering me many more. The only thing thats tricky getting in shape “I train all day, it starts at 11am and I might be done by 5pm. "I have the strength and conditioning, the boxing, the sparring, it's an all-day process. “You don't have any time for family or friends, it's tricky. With the fight with Roy, when I started training I said: ‘This is the reason why I quit fighting, the pain’. “But you get over that and now they have medicine and painkillers. I take the weekend off and that builds my stamina."
Many figures associated with boxing have questioned Tyson's decision to face Paul.
There is a chance he could suffer serious harm given his rival is 31 years his junior.
But Tyson fancies his chances and believes he's got what it takes to rock Paul and inflict a second defeat on the former YouTuber's CV.
He said when asked about his decision to come out of retirement to face Paul: “I had an exhibition with Roy Jones and he was on the card. "As time went on he started building a name for himself and it was a no-brainer that the two of us would get together so we made a decision to do it. “This fight is not going to change my lifestyle financially. "I'm a fighter, I feel good and I feel like I can beat this guy.”
Meanwhile, Jones Jr has opened up to talkSPORT about the fight.
He believes Tyson will win - but not via knockout.
And that's because the 55-year-old feels his former opponent wouldn't want to end the fight quickly given how much effort he's put in.
He said: "Well, I like Mike, probably by decision. "But if he chooses to go out and take him out, I think he can. "However, I feel like if he feels comfortable he will just box and enjoy himself because why get in shape to go one round... "I don't fear for Mike and how old he is. Mike is still hard to hit and Mike still hits hard as hell."
