France Star Wissam Ben Yedder Has Been Suspended And Hailed For Two Years Over Sexual Assault

France international Wissam Ben Yedder has been given a two-year suspended prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman while drunk.

The former Monaco striker, 34, went on trial at a court in Nice last month for the attack which took place on September 6.

The victim claimed Ben Yedder had groped her and performed a sex act in front of her in his car.

He was also also accused of repeatedly refusing to obey Monaco police orders to stop during a subsequent car chase.

Now the free agent has been sentenced and given a number of conditions alongside the two-year suspended prison term.

He has been fined €5,000 and suspended from driving for six months.

Ben Yedder must also pay €6,500 to the victim of the assault - €5,000 in moral damages and €1,500 in legal costs.

He is also under investigation after being accused of raping a young woman in the summer of 2023, a claim he denies.

A third accusation will see him in court in December after his ex-wife accused him of psychological violence.

Last year, he was given a fine and suspended prison sentence for tax offences.

Ben Yedder, who has three goals in 19 France caps, joined Monaco from Sevilla for a club record £34million in 2019.

He scored 118 goals in 201 games for Monaco but was released in June as the club's second all-time goalscorer.
