Juventus Legend Prefers Lukaku To Cristiano Ronaldo As Both Players Set To Face Off

Cristiano Ronaldo is in decline and not as decisive as Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, claims Juventus legend Roberto Boninsegna.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been slammed by Juventus icon Roberto Boninsegna on the eve of the Serie A clash against Inter Milan.

Ronaldo has bagged an incredible 15 goals in 13 Serie A games this season, as well as four in four in the Champions League.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has transformed from a left winger to a centre-forward, and leads the line with either Paulo Dybala or Alvaro Morata.

He’s scored in seven of Juventus ’ nine Serie A games this season, an impeccable return for the 35-year-old.

However, not everyone is impressed with Ronaldo’s contributions this season.

Boninsegna believes that Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku is a more “decisive” player than Ronaldo.

The Belgian has found new life under Antonio Conte having swapped Manchester United for Milan.

He’s found the net 17 times in 22 competitions this season, including 12 in 16 in the league.

And Boninsegna, who played for both sides but won two Serie A titles with Juve, believes Ronaldo is on the decline at the moment.

He told Tutto Juve, via Sports Central: "The only Inter player who made things difficult for the Fiorentina defence was Romelu Lukaku, who had just returned. "[They are a] Beautiful duo, Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo. I think Lukaku is a more decisive player. [It's] indisputable. "Cristiano Ronaldo was a great player, but I think he's declining a little bit.

Boninsegna went on to express that he hopes Inter come out on top on Sunday night in a game that could send Conte’s side joint top of the table alongside AC Milan.

He said: “How will the derby finish? My heart hopes that Inter win. When I played for Inter at San Siro against Juventus there were always lots of Juventus fans who came from Brianza to watch the match and it felt like an away game.
