Nigerian
international and Lille striker Victor Osimhen is said to have thrown into
mourn as it was reported that his father is dead. News has it that the father
of the Super Eagles striker mysteriously succumbed on Sunday morning and died.
The
21-year old has been grieving since as he took to his social media on Sunday to
reveal the sudden death of his father with a broken heart emoji.
However,
Osimhen has previously revealed how his father helped and his siblings after
the death of their mother at tender age with all the difficulties that
surrounds growing up.
He said when quizzed about his
growing up, Osimhen said: "I lost my mom in October, I do not even
remember the year. I was small. Three months later, my father lost his job. It
was very hard for our family. "My brother sold sports newspapers, my sister,
oranges in the street and me, bottled water in Lagos in the middle of the
traffic. We have to survive so we stick together. "In the evening, we were
all together and we gathered the money on the table. We gave everything to our
big sister and she made food and organized everything. "Part of my life
has been a struggle to survive. But that's all I am today in the end. It's hard
to classify all but each event has created my personality.
Meanwhile, recalled that Osimhen was part of the Super Eagles squad that came third at the Africa Cup of Nation in 2019. He also scored a total of 18 league goals in 38 appearances in all competition for Lille after signing a five year deal when he joined from Sporting Charleroi . he has also netted 3 goals in two games for the Super Eagles in the ongoing qualification for the 2021 African Cup of Nation in Cameroon.
