Liverpool’s Champions League campaign is hanging by a thread after losing to Real Madrid earlier this week.
Jurgen Klopp’s side went to the Spanish capital on Tuesday night and left with a 3-1 defeat.
The good news is that Mohamed Salah picked up a potentially-huge away goal for Liverpool ahead of next week’s return leg at Anfield.
The bad news is that Liverpool were horrible defensively in midweek and unless there’s a major improvement on that front on Wednesday, Real could and probably will cancel out Salah’s away goal on Merseyside.
Vinicius Junior ran the Reds’ defence ragged and wound up scoring twice.
And the young Brazilian striker was congratulated on his display by compatriot and Liverpool midfielder Fabinho after the game, with the former Monaco powerhouse, a £39 million in 2018, also spotted embracing Real Madrid president Florentino Perez during the exchange with Vinicius.
The good news for Liverpool is that this was merely a chance encounter and there has been no speculation about Fabinho joining the Santiago Bernabeu club. If there was, this could’ve been interpreted quite different had it been, say, Salah who had been seen speaking to Perez..
