Man City Has Asked Bayern For David Alaba In Sane’s Transfer Deal

Reports have it that Manchester City has tried to include David Alaba in the deal for Leroy Sane going to Bayern Munich. Sane is said to be Bayern's main target and will leave City after refusing a new contract

According to Athletic as reported by Sports Central, City are considering the possibility of including Alaba in the deal. The Austrian star, usually a left-back, has played various roles for Bayern this year. Alaba has been playing center-back as Alphonso Davies moved to the left wing-back.

But Bayern do not want to lose Alaba and could let him see the last year of his contract before letting him go for free. While Sane also has a year left on his deal and Bayern won't pay the winger's £90m valuation.

However, the two clubs are currently at an impasse, but City are believed to be looking for ways to get the deal done as it has been reported that talks have resumed.

The 28-year old Bayern star has also been linked to Juventus, but City needs a new left-back this summer as Benjamin Mendy's future is uncertain. Mendy is said to be responsible for Chelsea's first goal in last week's loss that saw Liverpool confirmed as champions, and his fitness problems is believed to be frustrating.

The Citizens are also watching Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, but would face a fight with Chelsea for the England international.

Pep Guardiola’s City also need a central defender, which with Alaba acting up in both positions to hand Guardiola many options, although they have been linked with big names like Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar and Nathan Ake.

However, City is still waiting on their appeal to CAS over their Champions League ban for violating the FFP rules.

Speaking after their FA Cup win against Newcastle, Guardiola said: “We are delighted after the defeat against Chelsea to be in London again at Wembley. “Always it’s an incredible trophy and it gives us an extra bonus. We spoke after what happened in the Premier League – we need two more victories to qualify for the Champions League. “But we have two competitions we can win. We made the first step today. “It will be good to arrive against Real Madrid in the best condition. To win this title would be the best way to prepare for Madrid.

Manchester City are still in the hunt for FA Cup and Champions League this season despite losing out on the Premier League.
