Arsenal On The Verge Of Signing Philippe Coutinho From Barcelona

As quoted by Sports Central, Mundo Deportivo reporter Miguel Rico revealed on Wednesday that Arsenal are best placed this summer to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho, currently on loan at Bayern Munich.

Thursday morning, Mundo Deportivo qualified their report via Sports Central.

Le10Sport first reported Coutinho as Arsenal's 'dream' signing before Mundo Deportivo added that price is a big deal, despite the Gunners being at the front.

Barcelona want to recoup their initial investment in Coutinho as much as possible and "just want the money" this summer. According to reports, they are looking for up to 80 million euros.

Such a price will be difficult to achieve for Arsenal as Coutinho is more likely to sign on loan or a swap deal.

The 28-year-old Brazilian is not believed to have a future at Nou Camp after struggling for form since leaving Liverpool in 2018.

He has spent this season on loan at Bayern Munich, but the German giants are believed not interested in making the deal permanent.

And, according to The Independent, Barcelona are said to be willing to let Coutinho move to the Emirates for £9million plus Matteo Guendouzi going the other way.
