Liverpool Must Fight To Sign Thiago Alcantara As Paris Saint-Germain Swings Into The Race

News according to Sports Central has it that Paris Saint-Germain are said to be preparing an offer that will meet Bayern Munich's price for Thiago Alcantara.

The 29-year-old has decided that after seven years with the Bundesliga giants he wanted a new challenge outside of Bayern Munich.

Alcantara is closely linked with Premier League champion Liverpool, as they tend to bolster their squad to defend the crown next season.

According to Le 10 Sport as quoted by Sports Central, PSG are currently preparing a £27million offer to the former Barcelona star to provide Liverpool with competition for his signature.

Sport Bild recently reported that Bayern has named their price for the midfielder at €30million (£27m).

Liverpool's need for new players is not as urgent as it used to be, as Curtis Jones has won in the first team, while Naby Keita has improved considerably, which could be an advantage for PSG.

Speaking to Sky Germany as cited by Sports Central, Klopp said last week: 'I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment. 'Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That's actually all there is to say. There's nothing to say!

Thiago still has a year left on his contract, but PSG sporting director Leonardo is willing to pay a hefty price to make sure Alcantara is part of their rebuilding.

Leonardo is also said to be interested in getting the likes of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan and Chelsea Flop Tiemoue Bakayoko.
