Meet Sammy Scott, a 9-year-old Newcastle fan whose dedication to his team knows no bounds.
With his parents’ permission, he skipped school to watch Newcastle in the League Cup — even getting them to call the school and say he was sick.
The plan, however, didn’t stay secret for long. Sammy was spotted on live television cheering in the stands, turning his “sick day” into a viral story. The school quickly issued a statement:
"Dear parents, please be advised that Sammy’s absence on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, will be recorded as unauthorized. He was seen on television at a football match. Please contact us to discuss the matter."
While he may have earned an official warning, Sammy’s passion captured hearts everywhere.
Sometimes, football isn’t just a game — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and for Sammy, the dream day at the stadium will be remembered long after the school scolding.
