FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o has congratulated Senegal for their well-earned AFCON 2025 triumph, praising both the players and their passionate supporters.
“Allow me first to congratulate Senegal, who truly deserve their victory. This group went out and earned every bit of their win,” Eto’o said.
Addressing the controversial moments that marked the final, he reflected: “We will work to improve our institution so that such incidents no longer occur. I believe everything that happened could have been avoided.”
On the role of CAF, Eto’o added: “I am not accusing CAF; otherwise, I would be accusing myself, since I am among those who have the privilege of making decisions for our football.”
Eto’o’s message is a reminder that while victories are celebrated, it’s equally important to learn from mistakes and keep football respectful and fair.
